Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, Oct. 22nd.

In eastern Nebraska in Lancaster County on the 20th in Lincoln at Cracker
Barrel Marsh (I-80 and N. 27th )a PECTORAL SANDPIPER, a SEDGE WREN and a
NELSON'S SHARP-TAILED SPARROW were found, and a mile north at Arbor Lake, a
VESPER SPARROW, a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW and 5 LECONTE'S SPARROWS were seen.
At Little Salt Creek Fork Marsh on the 20th, a BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE and 2
LECONTE'S SPARROWS were found. On the 20th at Branched Oak Lake, 54
AMERICAN AVOCETS, a BONAPARTE'S GULL and an AMERICAN PIPIT were seen. On
the 22nd at Wilderness Park in Lincoln, 40 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS and 2
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS were seen. Also on the 22nd at Wagontrain Lake,
12 TREE SWALLOWS and a BARN SWALLOW were found.

On the 19th in Washington County, 3 LECONTE'S SPARROWS and a FOX SPARROW
were seen along the road on the north side of Nathan's Lake.

On the 19th in Clay County, 75 AMERICAN PIPITS were found at Sandpiper
WPA. Also on the 19th, 12 GREATER PRAIRIE CHICKENS were seen one mile
east and one mile south of Eldorado.

In Knox County on the 19th at Bazile Creek SWMA, about 500 AMERICAN TREE
SPARROWS were seen. On the 19th in Niobrara, 2 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES
were seen along Spruce St. On the 20th, a PALM WARBLER was spotted 4
miles west of Creighton.

In Cedar County on the 19th, a BALD EAGLE, an OSPREY and a PRAIRIE FALCON
were seen at Gavin's Point Dam.

In western Nebraska on the 19th in Scotts Bluff County, an OSPREY, 2
PRAIRIE FALCONS and a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE were found at State Line Island
WMA south of Henry. On the 21st in Gering, at least 15 EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVES were found at 4th and P Streets. South of Morrill on the
21st, a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, a GREATER YELLOWLEGS and a SOLITARY SANDPIPER
were seen.

In Cherry County on the 18th, 70 WESTERN GREBES were found at Merritt
Reservoir, and a PRAIRIE FALCON was seen at McKelvie National Forest.

In central Nebraska on the 20th in Harlan County, 4 EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVES were seen along Highway 136 in Alma.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 21st, 2 BLACK SCOTERS were found
at Lake Manawa.
