Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, Oct. 29th.

In eastern Nebraska in Lancaster County on the 26th in Lincoln at
Branched Oak Lake the following species were found: a RED-THROATED LOON,
3 COMMON LOONS, 22 HORNED GREBES, 3 EARED GREBES, 150 GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, 2 SURF SCOTERS, 4 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 2 LEAST
SANDPIPERS, 2 DUNLIN, 4 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, an adult CALIFORNIA GULL
and 2 LAPLAND LONGSPURS. At Stagecoach Lake on the 26th, 3 COMMON LOONS and
a WESTERN GREBE were seen.

In Sarpy County on the 29th, a PINE WARBLER visited a feeder at the
Bright residence in Bellevue.

In Cedar County on the 24th and 25th, an adult BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was
seen at Gavin's Point Dam. In Knox County on the 23rd, a PECTORAL
SANDPIPER and 12 WILSON'S SNIPES were spotted on a farm pond west of Winnetoon.

On the 27th in southern Otoe County, 7 FOX SPARROWS, 2 SWAMP SPARROWS and
44 HARRIS'S SPARROW were seen.

On the 27th in Richardson County, a BROWN THRASHER was found in Indian
Cave State Park.

In central Nebraska on the 28th in Adams County, a WINTER WREN, a FOX
SPARROW and 10 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were seen in a backyard in Hastings.

In Rock County on the 28th, 7 WHOOPING CRANES were reported in a
cornfield 7 miles west and 1 mile north of Bassett.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 29th, a DUNLIN, 13 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS and an adult BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE were found at the
MidAmerican south pond.
