Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, Nov. 5th.

In eastern Nebraska in Cedar County on the 2nd, an adult BLACK-LEGGED was
seen and on the 1st, a PRAIRIE FALCON was spotted there.

In Dixon County on the 1st, 75 AMERICAN PIPITS were found in a field l.5
miles north and 3 miles west of Wakefield.

In Lancaster County on the 3rd in Lincoln at Branched Oak Lake the
following species were found: 3 COMMON LOONS, 6 WESTERN GREBES, 35,000
SNOW GEESE, 2 ROSS'S GEESE, a ROUGH- LEGGED HAWK, 3 AMERICAN AVOCETS, 2
GREATER YELLOWLEGS, a PECTORAL SANDPIPER, a BAIRD'S SANDPIPER, a DUNLIN and
2 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS. On the 2nd at Branched Oak Lake, 3 LONG-TAILED
DUCKS and a SURF SCOTER were seen. At Pawnee Lake on the 3rd, 2 COMMON
LOONS and 14 WESTERN GREBES were found.

In Washington County on the 2nd, 21 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS were found on
the flats north of Blair.

In Douglas County on the 3rd north of Omaha, 2 WESTERN GREBES were seen
at Cunningham Lake. On the 1st at 117th and Maple, a PURPLE FINCH visited
the feeders at Heron Haven. In Sarpy County on the 4th in Bellevue, a
HERMIT THRUSH was spotted in Fontenelle Forest. On the 2nd and 3rd, a GRAY
CATBIRD was seen in a yard on Bellevue Blvd. South.

In central Nebraska on the 2nd in Gosper County, a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER
was found at Johnson Lake.

In Buffalo County on the 3rd, a FERRUGINOUS HAWK was spotted just west of
Kearney. On the 2nd, a NORTHERN GOSHAWK and 2 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS were seen
in northern Buffalo County.

In western Nebraska on the 4th in Scotts Bluff County, a COMMON LOON, 8
EARED GREBES and a LONG-TAILED DUCK were seen at the Scottsbluff sewage lagoons.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 5th, 6 HORNED GREBES, a
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER and 15 RED- BREASTED MERGANSERS were found at Lake Manawa.
