Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Wednesday, Dec. 4th.
In central Nebraska in Wheeler County on the 1st, an immature NORTHERN
GOSHAWK was seen 3 miles west of the intersection of Highways 281 and 70.
In Holt County on November 28th, a SNOWY OWL was spotted 1.5 miles south
and 2 miles west of O'Neill.
In western Nebraska on the 2nd in Sioux County, 10 GRAY-CROWNED
ROSY-FINCHES were seen on the Henry Road.
In Keith County on the 2nd, 3 WESTERN GREBES and a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER were
found at Lake Ogallala.
In Scotts Bluff County on the 2nd, 500 COMMON GOLDENEYES and a HOODED
MERGANSER were found at the Scottsbluff sewage lagoon.
In Cherry County on November 30th, 2 BALD EAGLES were seen at Merritt
Reservoir and a ROUGH- LEGGED HAWK was spotted a mile south of Merritt Reservoir.
In eastern Nebraska in Dixon County on the 3rd, a PURPLE FINCH visited
the school feeder in Wakefield.
In Wayne County on the 3rd, a PURPLE FINCH and PINE SISKINS visited a bird
bath in Winside.
In Lancaster County on the 1st at Branched Oak Lake the following species
were found: a WESTERN GREBE, 3 HORNED GREBES, an AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN,
3 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS and 4 HERRING GULLS.
In Sarpy County on the 4th, an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER visited the
Birdline bird bath in Bellevue.
