Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Monday, Jan. 20th.

In western Nebraska on the 18th in Sioux County, the CURVE-BILLED
THRASHER was still being seen on a ranch in southeastern Sioux County.

In Keith County on the 18th, at Lake McConaughy and Lake Ogallala the
following species were seen: 2 WESTERN GREBES, 14 GREATER SCAUP, 5 HOODED
MERGANSERS, an adult MEW GULL, a 1stwinter THAYER'S GULL, 125 HERRING
GULLS, a MERLIN, a PRAIRIE FALCON and 20 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRES. Also on
the 18th, a EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was found in Roscoe.

In Scottsbluff County on the 18th, a SNOWY OWL was reported north of Morrill.

In eastern Nebraska in Seward County on the 17th, a male MOUNTAIN
BLUEBIRD was reported coming to a feeder 8 miles east of Seward.

In York County on the 20th, 2 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES were seen in the
west end of Greenwood Cemetery in York. Also on the 20th, a ROUGH-LEGGED
HAWK was seen north of the cemetery and a BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE was seen south of Waco.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 15th, 4 TRUMPETER SWANS were still
at Lake Manawa in a little open water by the north shore east of the
Country Club.
