Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, Mar. 25th, 2003.

In western Nebraska in Sioux County on the 23rd, a CURVE-BILLED THRASHER
was seen again on the Frimann Ranch.

In Grant County on the 23rd, a male CINNAMON TEAL was seen along Highway
2, 3 miles west of Hyannis. In Sheridan County on the 23rd, 9 TRUMPETER
SWANS were spotted between Antioch and Lakeside.

In Deuel County on the 22nd, a MARSH WREN was seen at Chappell Lake. On
the 22nd in Morrill County, an AMERICAN WOODCOCK was seen at Bridgeport
Lakes State Recreation Area.

In Scotts Bluff County on the 21st, an OSPREY was seen hunting in a small
stream just west of Scottsbluff.

In central Nebraska in Phelps County on the 22nd at Funk Lagoon, 6
CINNAMON TEAL, 3 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 5 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS and a LONG-BILLED
DOWITCHER were seen at Funk Lagoon.

In Buffalo County on the 22nd, 6 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were seen on the
UNK campus. Also on the 22nd, 2 BLACK-BILLED MAGPIES were seen south of
the I-80 Gibbon Exit.

In Harlan County on the 25th, a BONAPARTE'S GULL and a NORTHERN SHRIKE were
seen. On the 24th, a EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was seen in Alma.

In eastern Nebraska on the 24th in Douglas County, a GREAT EGRET, 2
GREATER SCAUP and 3 FRANKLIN'S GULLS were found at Cunningham Lake. On the
22nd, a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen at the south edge of Zorinsky
Lake. On the 23rd, a PEREGRINE FALCON was spotted at Carter Lake. In
Sarpy County on the 23rd in Bellevue, 2 TREE SWALLOWS, a RUBY-CROWNED
KINGLET, 4 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS and 4 FOX SPARROWS were found in
Fontenelle Forest.

In Lancaster County on the 22nd, 4 ROSS'S GEESE, 5 HOODED MERGANSERS, 3
RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, a NORTHERN SHRIKE and TREE SWALLOWS were seen at
Branched Oak Lake. On the 24th south of Denton, 4 GREATER
PRAIRIE-CHICKENS, a COMMON SNIPE, 3 EASTERN PHOEBES, 2 SAVANNAH SPARROWS
and 2 FOX SPARROWS were found at Spring Creek Prairie.

In Dixon County on the 23rd, 3 male GREATER PRAIRIE-CHICKENS were seen
booming on a lek approximately 3.5 miles west of Buckskin Hills SRA.

In Knox County on the 23rd, 51 GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were found at Bazile
Marsh east of Niobrara.

In Wayne County on the 22nd, 2 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were spotted in Wayne.
