In Lancaster County on the 8th, Golden-Crowned Kinglets and 12 Green-Winged Teals were
seen at the Frank Shoemaker Marsh on 27th street north of Lincoln.
In Lancaster County on the 8th, a Western Grebe, 12 Red-breasted Mergansers, about 2000
Snow Geese, a few Ross's Geese, 80 Bonaparte's Gulls and 35 Herring Gulls were recorded
at Branched Oak Lake. Two Red-breasted Mergansers were seen at Conestoga Lake. Four
Greater Scaups and 3 Red-breasted Mergansers were seen at Wagon Train Lake.
In Douglas County on the 8th, 1 Eared Grebe and 2 Red-breasted Mergansers were recorded
at Wehrspann Lake. Nine Red-breasted Mergansers were seen at Cunningham Lake.
In Dodge County on the 8th, 16 Gray Partridges were seen in Ames, and a Rough-legged
Hawk was recorded south of Scribner.
In Cuming County on the 8th, an immature Black-Crowned Night-Heron, a Common Goldeneye
and 6 Buffleheads were seen at Stalps Gravel Pit.
In Burt County on the 8th, 11 Buffleheads, 3 Red-Breasted Mergansers and 5 Western
Grebes were seen at Summit Lake. Thirty-two Franklin's Gull and 6 Killdeers were
recorded at Tekamah Sewer Ponds.
In Gosper County on the 8th, about 50 Common Mergansers, 11 Buffleheads, a Ring-necked
Duck, 2 Bald Eagles, 2 Rough-legged Hawks, and at least 65 Bonaparte's Gulls were
observed Johnson Lake.
In Dawson County on the 8th, an Northern Shrike was seen south of East Midway Lake.
In Lancaster County on the 8th, 3 Rusty blackbirds were seen at wetlands just north of
Arbor Lake. Two Yellow-rumped Warblers, 4 Fox Sparrows, a Bald eagle, a Rough-legged
Hawk, about 20,000 Snow Geese, a Common Merganser, a Western Grebe, 7 Red-breasted
Mergansers, 3 Green-winged Teals, 3 American White Pelicans, 28 Buffleheads, 4 Herring
Gulls, a Bonaparte's Gull, 6 Hooded Mergansers, 80 Ruddy Ducks and 90 Double-Crested
Cormorants were seen at Branched Oak Lake. Nine Buffleheads, 61 Ruddy Ducks and a
Hooded Merganser were recorded at Pawnee Lake. A Ruddy Duck and 2 Hooded Mergansers
were seen at Conestoga Lake. Sixteen Ruddy Ducks, a Green-Winged Teal, 3 Red-Breasted
Mergansers, 2 Hooded Mergansers, 18 Buffleheads and a Greater scaup were recorded at
Stagecoach Lake. Two Pied-billed Grebes and 20 Ruddy ducks were seen at Wagontrain Lake.
In Cass County on the 9th, 2 Buffleheads were seen at Sewer Lagoons between South Bend
and Hwy 50.
In Otoe County on the 9th, a Common Goldeneye was recorded at Syracuse Sewer Lagoons.
In Johnson County on the 9th, 35 Ruddy Ducks and a Bald Eagle were seen at Tecumseh
Sewer Lagoons.
In Pawnee County on the 9th, 2 Buffleheads were seen at Burchard SRA.
In Richardson County on the 9th, 2 Horned Grebes, 6 Red-Breasted Mergansers, an
American White Pelican and a Ruddy Duck were observed at Kirkman's Cove SRA. Four
Pied-billed Grebes were seen at Vernon Lake SRA.
In Knox County on the 9th, a juv. Black Scoter, an adult Thayer's Gull, about
30 Bonaparte's Gulls, 3 Franklin's Gulls and 2 Long-tailed Ducks were recorded in
Gavin's Pt. area. An American Black Duck, 3 American White Pelicans and a Prairie
Falcon were seen around Standing Bear Bridge at Niobrara river.
In Seward County on the 11th, a flock of about 75 Eastern Bluebirds was recorded about
8 miles east of Seward.
In Douglas County of the 12th, 3 Blue-winged Teals, a Greater Yellowlegs, a Western
Grebe and a Red-breasted Merganser were seen at Cunningham Lake. Two Common Loons were
observed at Lonegran Lake.
