UPCOMING MEETINGS OF THE NEBRASKA ORNITHOLOGISTS' UNION

The next extraordinary birding event is planned for MAY 14-16, 2010. Those are the dates for the Annual 2010 Meeting of the Nebraska Ornithologists' Union. Birders will gather NEXT MAY AT CHADRON for field trips, speakers, and updates of NOU business. Chadron is at the edge of the famous Black Hills in the northwestern corner of Nebraska where we may find Western Tanagers, Lewis's Woodpeckers, Pygmy Nuthatches, Ferruginous Hawks, Golden Eagles, Cassin's Kingbirds, Pinyon Jays, Mountain Bluebirds among other western specialties. Everyone is welcome to attend, members and non-members.

Field trips all day Saturday and Sunday morning will focus on the spring migration in the Pine Ridge including Chadron State Park. The countryside is beautiful and the birding should be great!

The next FALL FIELD DAYS is planned for SEPTEMBER 24-26 at MCCOOK. Southwestern Nebraska offers many great birding opportunities. McCook is in the Republican River valley and there are three large reservoirs nearby.
